Recently I was asked to speak at the opening ceremony of a Remembrance Garden being established in memory of babies who have died close to birth. After speaking to John Parker about my feelings he presented me with the poem. When I read it I was profoundly moved. His words are simple and generic yet manage to evoke precious memories.
The poem validates and acknowledges the loss and pain, and gives comfort by it's understanding. It touches on every aspect of the experience. It is however essentially a very positive and uplifting poem. It celebrates every life and is a fitting tribute to these precious babies.
