be calm
This too shall pass,o:p>
Afar,
Beyond
The receding ripple on life’s pond.
Be still my soul.
Be calm,
Be free
Afloat the sea of serenity.
Stay high above
Reaction,
Emotion,
To rest at peace on the cosmic ocean.
Let love pour forth
To flood,
To lift,
To bless this lesson, our spirit’s gift.

the doctor's thoughts .........
When you are seeking peace, use this poem to find it inside yourself. I frequently read these words to calm myself when I feel upset, to ground myself when I am overwhelmed and to bring my life back into perspective. This poem has become a healing mantra for me. It helps me to remember that even terrible events do pass, that my reactions and emotions, however painful, are only transient, and that adversity always brings with it opportunities to learn and grow. As I still my body, mind and spirit these gifts always become apparent.
Try it. Just repeat the poem slowly, over and over again, slow your breathing, allow your muscles to become heavy and let the words take meaning.
